Singles, Doubles and Triples Shields are played for. From these four competitions points are scored as an individual and the Bill Grayson Trophy goes to the member with the highest points.
The Club also plays in a summer league called Thursday Pairs, and has been extremely successful in this league.  Each year there is an Open Day, normally at the end of May, with upwards of 60 people playing triples.   Similarly The Nutbrook Petanque Club accepts invitations from other clubs for their Open Day.
In the early years, members of the club hosted a group of French players through the Ilkeston twinning with Chalons-en-Champagne, and since then there have been several exchanges.   Easter 2007 sees the 50-
year anniversary of the Ilkeston/Chalons twinning, and Nutbrook Petanque will be one of the sports featured during this time.

Change of Venue
The Club changed its venue in August 1999.   This came about with the change of landlord at The Punchbowl, and the fact that the club was growing and needed a larger playing surface.    After looking into different places where Petanque could be played, within the Ilkeston area, the Nutbrook Cricket Club ground was voted by the majority of members as the place most suitable for the club.   The Cricket Club had offered a good-sized piece of ground of approx 30 metres by 30 metres at the rear of their clubhouse,
